Reptiles in Our Allotments

Event: Reptile Surveying and Ecology
Date: Friday 29th June
Organisation: Cambridge City Greenways Project
Location: Pen Close Allotments, Cherry Hinton, Cambridge. Parking is limited so please use public transport if possible. Meet at the end of Pen Close.
Time: Start 9:30am and finish at 11am
Description: Reptiles are at home in Cambridge but it is a rare treat to see them. Join Laura Watson in conducting a survey of this local site. The survey will involve checking refugia and exploring where the animals may be hiding. Enjoy this opportunity to learn about reptiles and how you can help with the city wide survey. Unfortunately we can not guarantee that reptiles will be seen during this session.

Location: Empty Common Allotments, Cambridge. Parking is limited so please use public transport if possible. Meet at the entrance to the allotments on Brooklands Avenue.
Time: Start 9:30am and finish at 11am
Description: Reptiles are at home in Cambridge but it is a rare treat to see them. Join Laura Watson in conducting a survey of this local site. Discovering Pondlife

Event: Surveying for young amphibians
Date: Thursday 5th July
Organisation: Cambridge City Greenways Project
Location: Bramblefields LNR, Laxton Way, Chesterton, Cambridge. Parking is limited so please use public transport if possible. Meet at the pond.
Time: Start 5pm and finish at 7pm
Description: Having surveyed this pond earlier on in the year it's now time to see what all those frogs and newts were up to. Take this opportunity to catch young newts (efts) and young frogs and observe how they have developed from tadpoles. There are also grass snakes in the reserve so keep your eyes peeled. Find out about the city wide survey and how you can help. Unfortunately we can not guarantee that reptiles will be seen during this session.
