The Mid-week Volunteer Teams

Are you looking for fun, fresh air and exercise? Do you have a spare day during the week? Would you like to help safeguard some of the areas most important wildlife habitats?

We could not complete our work without the help of volunteers; they help us put our management recommendations into action and local communities to kick start work. We run two practical volunteer Mid-week Volunteer Teams: on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We undertake a variety of tasks including grassland management, scrub clearing, pond construction and management, otter holt construction and hedge work.

Newcomers are always welcome. All we ask is for one day of your time. If you would like to join us please wear appropriate clothing and footwear (waterproofs, sunhat and sunscreen) and bring a packed lunch. We would recommend that you have an up to date tetanus jab. We provide all tools and safety equipment and training to use them. We also provide refreshments.

Tuesday

The Tuesday Team works in the City along the a variety of the Cities greenspaces including Local Nature Reserves (LNRs), the Commons, Wildlife Sites and other Parks and Open Spaces. Why not take a look at our Tuesday programme for further details.

Wednesday

The Wednesday Team works outside the boundaries of the City on a variety of sites including Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), Parish Pits, LNRs and other community sites. Have a look at our Wednesday programme for further details.

Other

There are also other volunteering opportunities. Would you like to help us survey for water voles ? We require help with our species monitoring work so if you can spare an hour a month then go to our other volunteering opportunities section for details.
